I added a Riff Awards badge to my poster as I wanted to convey that our film was a classy, low budget indipendant film. This works well with the small, centred Gil Sans Typeface.

Poster first draft.
This is the first draft I have created for my film poster. We took the photograph upon returning to Spires Bank for the second time to make out work look as professional as possible. I positioned myself to have the sun over my shoulder, as we wanted to convey connotation of hope to our audience. I also purposely did not extract the colour from the image, as I wanted to keep its appearance as a positive film, about a survivor, not about a lone man dying.

I recieved alot of feedback about this poster, and it was all very similar. The photograph and the minimalist design seemed to be appealing, but they felt there was not enough information to attract an audience to watch the film. For example, we could add Social Networking icons such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger etc to encourage people to interact with the film, and also build awareness of the film online. We could also add the logos from our film institutions, Paramount, Film 4 and Escapade, which we created. Getting people even more involved with Dystopia, we could add a Hashtag, a QR code and a web address to the poster.
