Short film.

Due to complications with planning we have decided to change our project from a film trailer to a short film. We feel as a group this is a positive move for us, as we believe we would be able to produce a better final product.

We have decided to change to a short film for a few reasons. Firstly we discovered from the start that it was difficult to plan a trailer. Trailers are 'chopped up' parts of a finished film. This means the Editor can take the linear storyline and show it however they wish. However, we were unable to do this. We do not have the time to create an entire film, with the intention to edit it into a trailer. Therefore, to create a trailer we would have had to plan a 'mashed up' plot line that intentionally did not make sense to the audience.

We have come to the decision that creating a short film, with a linear plotline would be much more successful. It would make more sense to us and the audience, and have an overall more structured feel.

Now we have made this decision and began altering our plot into a short film, we will begin to look at other short films and research their conventions etc.
