I Am Legend

I have always liked I Am Legend as a movie, so when we decided we wanted to create a Post Apocalyptic short film, it only made sense to watch this film in more detail. 

The film follows Robert Neville, played by Will Smith) after he was unable to stop the outbreak of a terrible virus he was unable to stop himself. Immune to the virus himself, he is the last survivor on Earth.

Director Francis Lawrence captures the feeling of isolation and loneliness with both sad, dramatic scenes and humorous scenes. This shows the audience how Neville is desperately trying to keep his spirits up, despite his situation. The use of a dog as his companion shows how desperately lonely he really is; it resembles a homeless man, who always has a dog by his side.

I Am Legend really takes the 'last man standing' idea to the extreme. In our film, I want to use the same ideas Francis Lawrence uses to show absolute lonliness, but with a passion to fight to survive.
